I am a Chinese American Stamp Collector

Hi,

I am a Chinese American read but not write Chinese.
I grew up with many stamps in my house since my dadcollected stamps just as millions of others in the former USSR. Inthose days philately was widely recognized as THE hobby for all thehighly educated people. I really enjoyed my dad's enormous collectionand showed it off to my peers at school on a number of occasions (andgot in trouble for it! - I was not supposed to take the albums out ofthe house). I traded many of his stamps without even knowing the value,like many kids i based my trades on the "cuteness" of the stamps. AfterI moved to the US I abandoned my stamp collecting hobby because it wasperceived as "geeky." Recently, I picked up this hobby again thanks toan article by Armand Rousso "Philately Extends Life".I recommend this article to everyone who is considering getting intophilately. Armand (who is a guru of philately) points out so many greatthings about stamp collecting! Enjoy!

大家好！
      我是个美籍华人，但只会看中文而不会写中文。
      我生长在一个拥有很多邮票的家庭，因为我爸爸像很多前苏联人一样，收集了很多很多的邮票。在前苏联时代，集邮曾是受过高等教育阶层广泛认可的一种爱好。
      我非常喜欢我爸爸收藏的大量邮票，并且多次拿去学校同龄人面前炫耀，结果惹了大麻烦，因为我爸爸并不允许我把他的集邮册带出家。我在不知道这些邮票真实价值的情况下就和别人交换了很多邮票，我和其他很多孩子都一样，交换邮票的原则都是看邮票图案的趣味性，觉得好看就交换了，而没有考虑邮票的真实价值。自从我移民美国后，我就放弃了集邮，因为集邮在美国是被当成是反常的另类。
      最近，因为Armand（阿曼德先生）的一篇文章"Philately Extends Life"（《集邮让生活更丰富》），我又重拾集邮这个爱好。我想把《集邮让生活更丰富》这篇文章推荐给那些正在考虑是否要集邮的人士。在这篇文章里，阿曼德先生指出了很多关于集邮的趣事。
